Dogs face league leading Vees tonight in Penticton *6pm start*

The Interior weekend continues tonight for the Bulldogs (26-22-2-3, 4th Island) as they travel to Penticton to face the league leading Vees (41-9-3-2, 1st Interior, 1st Overall) for the second time in less than two weeks at the South Okanagan Event Centre for a special 6pm puck drop.

The Bulldogs kicked off their weekend last night in Salmon Arm where they lost another heart breaker, tying it with 33 seconds to go, and then giving one up ten seconds later to lose 4-3 to the Silverbacks. The Vees were also in action last night at home, where they won their third in a row, 4-1 over the Merritt Centennials.

These teams last met in on Sunday, February 8th a 3-0 Bulldogs win at the Dog Pound. That evened the season series at 1-1 after the Vees picked up a 4-3 win over the Dogs at the season opening BCHL Showcase in Chilliwack in September.

The two points up for grabs are valuable for the Bulldogs as they are fighting for positioning in the Island Division standings. The Vees meanwhile don't have anything to play for as they clinched the Ron Boileau Memorial Trophy that's awarded to the Regular Season league leaders with a 5-2 win in Trail on Valentines Day. Having said that, no one plays the game not to win it, and you can bet the Vees will bring their best to try and end the Regular Season on a roll and maybe get a little payback after the Dogs won the last meeting.

Note the 6pm start time tonight - that means the pregame show on Pacific Chevrolet Bulldogs Hockey gets underway at 5:45 on 93.3 The Peak FM   with Bruce MacDonald providing the colour commentary and analysis while I call the play-by-play.
