Dogs head down Island to visit Caps tonight at the BIG STICK

It's another tough test on the road for the Bulldogs (10-13-1-1, 5th Island) as they play their fourth straight game away from home tonight when they visit the Capitals (13-8-1-3, 2nd Island) at the Big Stick at the Island Savings Centre in Duncan.

It's the third meeting of the season between the teams, and the first in Duncan since the Bulldogs season opener on September 12th, a 6-3 Caps win. The last head-to-head match up was at the Dog Pound on October 10th, and it was a memorable one with the Dogs trailing all game before tying it with a minute to go and then winning it 4-3 in overtime.

The Bulldogs were last in action Sunday afternoon in Vernon where they fell 5-0 to the Vipers. The Capitals were last in action Saturday night at home where they lost their second in a row, 4-3 in double OT to the Nanaimo Clippers

This is a pretty big game for both sides of the puck - the Dogs enter play tonight a single point behind Victoria who sit in 4th place in the Division. This is one of their three games in hand. The Caps enter play three points behind the Clippers for the Division lead. It's one of their two games in hand. Here's hoping the Dogs are motivated to climb into the final playoff spot, and that they don't squander one of their games in hand. You can bet they'll need to bring their best effort - the Capitals are 9-2-0-1 on home ice.
