Dogs visit Vipers this afternoon to conclude three-in-three weekend

It's into the Snake pit today for the Bulldogs (10-12-1-1, 5th Island) as they pay the Vernon Vipers (12-13-0-1, 4th Interior) a visit for the second meeting between the teams in just 17 days.

The Dogs picked up a 6-3 win over the Vipers at the Pound in the previous match up on November 6th. I thought that the Vipers brought a great effort and might have deserved a better fate in that contest, but credit to the Dogs for being opportunistic. Today's game at the end of a three-in-three roadie will be a big challenge for the Dogs, but here's hoping that they can bring a solid team effort and think back to last Sunday when Langley came into their building at the end of a three-in-three and stole two points from them after trailing 3-0 and just refusing to quit.

The Dogs were in action last night in West Kelowna where they picked up a 10-5 win over the Warriors. The Vipers meanwhile had yesterday off from game action, but they have still had a busy week. They fell 4-1 in West Kelowna Friday night, and picked up a 5-3 at home over Merritt on Wednesday night.
93.3 The Peak FM has got you covered, with Van Isle Ford Bulldogs Hockey getting underway with the pregame show at 1:45 and all the action to follow just after the 2:00pm puck drop.

Today's 2nd Intermission guest is another Bulldog alum, but this time it's one from off the ice in former Trainer and Equipment Manager Matt Auerbach. He was with the Bulldogs through the 2003-2004 to 2005-2006 seasons before departing with then Head Coach Jim Hiller to work with the expansion Chilliwack Bruins of the WHL.

Matt is now the Head Equipment Manager with the Victoria Royals, and he has a pretty cool opportunity coming up this winter as he'll head to Finland to work on the Team Canada staff at the World Juniors. Matty is a fantastic trainer who always went above and beyond in his time with the Dogs and was incredibly passionate and diligent with his job on a day to day basis, so it's no surprise he's getting an opportunity like this one!
